# Keep Confluence for the wiki. Give your AI’s work its own link.

Confluence is a strong team wiki, with real-time editing, comments, fine-grained permissions and Rovo AI. artifact.guru gives what your AI builds its own link: HTML, React and sites run as real pages, and you see who opened them.

## Pick Confluence if

- Your team writes and edits pages together every day, with comments and version history.
- You need space and page permissions, single-space guests and SSO through Atlassian Guard.
- You want Rovo to turn pages into slides, charts and infographics inside the wiki.

## Pick artifact.guru if

- Your AI builds HTML pages, React prototypes or decks that should open as real pages.
- You want to invite clients by email and see who opened it, when, and who hasn’t.
- You want each piece of AI work at its own link, with versions and your own subdomain.

## Confluence and artifact.guru, row by row

| Question | Confluence | artifact.guru |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Publish from AI agents | Atlassian Rovo MCP: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Codex and more create and update pages | Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Gemini CLI, Grok and any MCP app, over OAuth; no API keys |
| Upload it yourself | Drag files onto a page as attachments, 100 MB default limit; folders must be zipped | Drag in files, or a whole folder for a built site or React app |
| What opens in the browser | Pages, live docs, whiteboards, databases, Rovo slides; attached files open in a preview | HTML, React, Markdown, PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, images, diagrams, zipped sites |
| Who can open a link | Page permissions, guests and public links on paid plans; SSO needs Atlassian Guard | Private, public or secret code on every plan; email invites (up to 50) on paid plans |
| Who opened it | View counts on Standard; Premium lists each viewer, last view and view count | Paid plans: names on email links; counts, sources and devices on the rest |
| Updates and versions | Page history with compare and restore; attachments keep their versions | Every change is a new version at the same link; roll back any time (Free keeps 3) |
| Your own domain | Custom domain on Premium, two subdomains deep, like wiki.team.acme.com | Your subdomain for public and secret-code links, from $12 a month |
| Team workspace | Free for up to 10 users; spaces, groups and roles; single-space guests on paid plans | Team: one workspace, admins and members, a project per client, comments you can assign |
| Price | Free up to 10 users; Standard $6.70, Premium $13.20/user/month up to 100 users; $680, $1,300/year for 10 (USD) | Free $0; Individual $12/month; Team $30/month for 3 editors, then $8 each |

## Where Confluence is good

- Up to 30 people can edit a page at once, with inline comments, drafts, scheduled publishing and full version history.
- Access is fine-grained: space and page permissions, single-space guests, a public link per page and anonymous spaces, with SSO through Atlassian Guard.
- Rovo turns pages into slides, charts, diagrams and infographics, and its MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini create and update pages.

## Where artifact.guru is different

- Your agent’s HTML page, React component or zipped site runs as a real page at its own link, in a sandbox on a separate address with no access to the viewer’s account.
- Invite up to 50 email addresses per artifact. Each person signs in with that address, and you see who opened it, when, how often, and who hasn’t.
- Agents publish over MCP from Claude, Codex, Gemini CLI and Grok. You approve once in the browser, with no API keys.
- Every publish or edit is a new version at the same link, and you can roll back. Keep Confluence as the wiki and link each artifact from the page that needs it.

## Moving over from Confluence

1. Keep the wiki in Confluence. Publish new AI pages, decks and prototypes to artifact.guru from Claude, Codex or another MCP client.
2. For files already attached to pages, download them from the page’s Attachments view and drag them into artifact.guru.
3. Link each artifact from the Confluence page that needs it, then choose who can open it: email invites, a secret code or public.

## Questions

### Can I share a Confluence page with people outside the company?

Yes, on paid plans. You can turn on a public link for a page, live doc or whiteboard, add guests to one space, or open a space to anonymous users. Public-link pages are view-only and kept out of search engines. artifact.guru adds email invites that show who opened, and secret codes that can expire in 7 or 30 days.

### Does Confluence show who viewed a page?

Standard shows how many people viewed it. Premium and Enterprise list each viewer with their last view and view count. On artifact.guru, email links show who opened, when, how often and who hasn’t, and public and code links show counts, sources and devices.

### Can my AI agent publish to Confluence?

Yes. The Atlassian Rovo MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Codex and other clients create and update pages, and calls that pull data use Rovo credits. artifact.guru publishes the file your agent built, like an HTML page, a React prototype or a PowerPoint, and opens it at its own link.

### Should we move our wiki to artifact.guru?

No. Confluence is the better wiki, with co-editing and inline comments; artifact.guru keeps comments in a panel beside each artifact. Keep Confluence and use artifact.guru for the AI-made pages, decks and prototypes you share with clients or stakeholders.
