# A display.dev alternative for PDFs, decks and whole sites

display.dev is built for teams: company sign-in, inline comments your agent resolves, and audit logs on Pro. artifact.guru opens more than HTML and Markdown, from Word files and decks to React apps, and puts your own domain on the $12 plan.

## Pick display.dev if

- Viewers should sign in with company Google or Microsoft accounts, from the Pro plan up.
- You want inline comments that your agent reads, fixes and resolves at the same URL.
- You need audit logs, SAML or a signed DPA to get through a security review.

## Pick artifact.guru if

- You share PDFs, Word files, decks, React components or whole sites, not just HTML and Markdown.
- You want public and code links on your own domain for $12 a month, not an Enterprise contract.
- Your files run past 50 MB. We take up to 100 MB a file, 250 MB on Team.

## display.dev and artifact.guru, row by row

| Question | display.dev | artifact.guru |

| Who opened it | View counts on Solo; counts plus viewer identity on Pro; audit logs from Pro | Paid plans: names on email links; counts, sources and devices on the rest |

## Where display.dev is good

- Inline comments close the loop: a teammate comments on the page, and the agent reads the thread over MCP, publishes the next version and resolves it.
- A Company link opens for everyone at your verified email domain, with Google and Microsoft sign-in on Pro and SAML on Enterprise.
- Pricing is per organization, not per seat: unlimited viewers on every plan, unlimited public artifacts even on Free, and a 7-day Pro trial with no card.

## Where artifact.guru is different

- More than HTML and Markdown. PDFs, Word files, PowerPoint decks, React components, Mermaid and Excalidraw diagrams, and zipped or folder sites open in the browser, and the original stays downloadable.
- Your own domain without an Enterprise deal. Public and secret-code links can sit on a subdomain like docs.yourcompany.com on any paid plan, including Individual at $12 a month.
- Bigger files, whole folders. Up to 100 MB a file, 250 MB on Team, and a dragged-in folder with a built site or React app becomes one artifact.
- Email links show each person who opened, when and how often, and who hasn’t opened yet. Your team’s own opens don’t count.

## Moving over from display.dev

1. Export each artifact’s file with display.dev’s dsp export command, or download it from the Versions list.
2. Drag the files into artifact.guru, or connect your agent over MCP and ask it to republish them.
3. Choose Private, Email, Secret code or Public for each link, then send the new URL.

## Questions

### Does artifact.guru have comments like display.dev?

Yes, though not inline. People in your workspace and people you invite by email comment in a panel beside the artifact, and your agent reads, answers and resolves those comments over MCP. On Team you can assign a comment to a teammate. Comments aren’t pinned to a spot or a text selection, and there are no email alerts yet. If your review runs on inline comments, display.dev is the better fit.

### Can viewers sign in with Google or Microsoft?

Not on artifact.guru. Email links admit up to 50 named addresses per artifact, and each person signs in with that address. display.dev offers Google and Microsoft sign-in on Pro and SAML on Enterprise.

### Which one costs less?

For one person, artifact.guru Individual is $12 a month and display.dev Solo is $15 (or €15) a month before VAT. For a team, display.dev Pro is a flat $49 (or €49) a month with no seat fees, while artifact.guru Team is $30 a month for 3 editors, then $8 each, so from 6 editors up display.dev costs less.

### Can I use my own domain?

On artifact.guru, yes, on any paid plan: public and secret-code links run on a subdomain like docs.yourcompany.com with two DNS records. On display.dev, a custom domain comes with Enterprise, which starts from €499 a month.
