A steady week with one bump. Live ETAs finished its second week with six pilot carriers and kept 87% of arrivals within ten minutes, so the launch is set for Wednesday 11 November. Priya's caching work brought API p95 down to 212 ms, the lowest it has been this year.

The bump: driver app 4.12 sent some drivers back to the sign-in screen, and support tickets rose by nine. Lucía has a fix and needs a decision by Tuesday. Everything else is below; use the filter to see only your team.

ETA ranges on the dispatch board

Every stop now shows how sure we are, not only a time. Pilot dispatchers used the range to decide which customers to call first.

Re-plan several routes at once

When a road closes, dispatchers select every affected route and re-plan them together. Halden Freight re-planned 12 routes in 40 seconds during Tuesday's bridge closure.

One-tap arrival in the driver app

When a truck enters a stop's geofence, the app offers one Arrived button instead of a three-field form. It went out in 4.12 to 30% of drivers, which is also where the login bug came from.

Lane delay map in the planner

Planners see average delay per lane as tiles on the map instead of a table, so slow corridors stand out before a route is built.

Risks

  • About 6% of drivers on 4.12 are sent back to the sign-in screen after a shift change, mostly on older handsets. It caused 14 support tickets this week. The fix touches token refresh, so we want a second review before it ships.

    Next step
Hotfix or rollback, decided by Tuesday 6 October.
  • Rural lanes with patchy signal land 71% of arrivals within ten minutes, against 87% overall. Jonas is blending in historical dwell times and re-tests on Friday 16 October.

    Jonas Feld, Data
    Next step
If rural lanes stay under 80%, we show a wider range there at launch.
  • The drill needs a 40-minute write freeze and we haven't found a window. Priya's proposal for Saturday 10 October is in the decisions below.

    Owner
    Priya Raman, Platform
    Next step
Run the drill, or move it into the November maintenance window.
  • The renewal quote came in 4% above this year. Finance has it, and we expect a signature by Friday 23 October.

  • Pine Ridge Carriers and Okanee Freight move to the API importer on Monday 12 October. Test files from both already pass.

Decisions needed

  • Hotfix 4.12.1, or roll back to 4.11?

The fix is ready and has had one review. A hotfix keeps one-tap arrival for the 30% of drivers who have it. A rollback is safer but takes it away for about two weeks. Lucía recommends the hotfix, released to 5% of drivers first.

Lucía Ortega decides by Tuesday 6 October, in 4 days.

  • Run the failover drill on Saturday 10 October at 06:00?

It needs a 40-minute write freeze. Saturday at 06:00 is our quietest hour: 11 carriers planned routes then, on average, over the last month. Priya needs a yes from Dana and two on-call volunteers.

Priya Raman decides by Thursday 8 October, in 6 days.

  • Should carriers' customers see the ETA range, or only dispatchers?

Pilot dispatchers like the range. Two carriers worry their customers will read ±15 minutes as late. It is still an open question in the launch plan, and the tracking link copy waits on it.

Dana Whitlock decides by Friday 9 October, in a week.

  • Retire the CSV timetable importer in Q1?

Nine carriers still use it, and two of them move to the API importer on 12 October. Retiring it removes our oldest parsing code and one on-call alert.

Jonas Feld decides by Wednesday 14 October, in 12 days.

Thank you to everyone who stayed late on Wednesday to test the 4.12 rollback. Pastries are on me on Monday.
