Stacktree alternative · Private client delivery for agencies

A Stacktree alternative that opens Word and PowerPoint as they are

Stacktree is made for agencies: a portal per client, passcodes, page comments and read analytics down to scroll depth. artifact.guru opens Word and PowerPoint files as they are and gives your team admins and members today.

Where Stacktree is good

  • Client spaces give each client one address and a portal where every page you send collects, and they type one passcode to stay in for 30 days.
  • Clients comment on the page itself with no account, and your agent can read those comments, fix the page and resolve them.
  • Studio adds aggregate time on page, scroll depth and an attention heatmap, and from Solo a named link reports each person’s opens.

Where artifact.guru is different

  • Word and PowerPoint open in the browser. Drop in a .docx or .pptx and the reader sees it rendered, original downloadable, no PDF export first.
  • A team workspace today: admins and members, shared projects per client or launch, and search that reads inside PDFs, Word and PowerPoint files.
  • Unlimited links on the $12 Individual plan, with public and secret-code links on your own subdomain.

Moving over from Stacktree

  1. 1Connect artifact.guru to your agent over MCP, or drag in the files you already send.
  2. 2On Team, make a project for each client and file its deliverables there.
  3. 3Send Email links to named contacts, or a secret code to a whole group, then retire the old links.

Questions about Stacktree and artifact.guru

Can people comment on artifact.guru pages?

Yes, if they’re in your workspace or you invited them by email. They sign in and comment in a panel beside the page, and your agent can read and resolve what they write. Comments aren’t pinned to the page, there’s no sign-off step, and visitors on public or secret-code links can’t comment. If your approvals run on page comments and sign-off, Stacktree does that today.

Can I see how far someone read?

Not on artifact.guru. Email links show who opened, when and how often, and public and code links show counts, referrers and devices, but there is no time on page or scroll depth. Stacktree shows both from Studio.

Does artifact.guru have passcodes?

It has secret codes: an 8-character code that expires in 7 days, 30 days or never, and a new code locks out the old one. There are no other passwords, and no burn-after-read, end-to-end encryption or self-hosting, all of which Stacktree offers.

Which is cheaper for a freelancer?

artifact.guru Individual is $12 a month with unlimited links and your own domain. Stacktree Solo is $19 a month for 25 pages, one custom domain and one client space.
