artifact.guru

Vercel alternative · Web app deployment platform

Vercel ships apps. artifact.guru shares what your AI made.

Vercel is built for shipping web apps at scale: Git deploys, preview links, functions and instant rollback on a global network. artifact.guru is for sharing what your AI made with people who don’t code: no repo, no build, and you see who opened it.

Pick Vercel if

  • You’re shipping a real app with serverless functions, Git deploys and a preview link per branch.
  • Your reviewers have Vercel accounts and you want comments pinned to the page.
  • You want your own domain on a free plan for a personal, non-commercial project.

Pick artifact.guru if

  • Your AI made a page, deck or doc and it should become a link in one step, with no repo or build.
  • You want to invite clients by email and see who opened it, and who hasn’t.
  • Your files include PDF, Word or PowerPoint and they should open in the browser too.

Where Vercel is good

  • Every Git push gets its own deployment URL, serverless functions run beside your pages, and instant rollback restores an earlier production deploy.
  • Its official MCP server works with Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor and can deploy files without Git, and Claude Design can send a design straight to Vercel.
  • Vercel login now protects production free on every plan, invited reviewers can comment on previews, and Enterprise teams can make visitors sign in through their own identity provider.

Where artifact.guru is different

  • No repo and no build. Agents publish over MCP from Claude, ChatGPT (Business, Enterprise or Edu), Codex, Gemini CLI and Grok after one approval in the browser.
  • PDF, Word and PowerPoint open in the browser, next to HTML, React, Markdown and Mermaid. The original file is always downloadable.
  • Invite up to 50 email addresses per artifact and see who opened it, when, how often and who hasn’t yet.
  • Every publish or edit is a new version at the same link, with rollback any time. An agent edit never overwrites a change someone else made in between.

Moving over from Vercel

  1. 1Add artifact.guru to your agent as a remote MCP server and approve it once in the browser.
  2. 2Ask the agent to publish the page, or drag in the built folder: a built site becomes one artifact.
  3. 3Choose who can open it (Private, Email, Secret code or Public), then send the link.

Questions about Vercel and artifact.guru

Can’t I just send a Vercel preview link?

You can. Invites and shareable links work on every plan, but an invited viewer needs a Vercel account to open a protected deployment, and Hobby allows one shareable link per account and one invited collaborator at a time. artifact.guru email links show who opened them, and PDF, Word and PowerPoint files open in the browser too.

Does Vercel have password protection?

Yes. Since September 2026 it costs $20 per protected project per month on Pro, it’s included on Enterprise, and it isn’t available on Hobby. artifact.guru uses 8-character secret codes that can expire, plus email invites.

Can reviewers leave comments on the page?

On Vercel, yes: people with a Vercel account and access can comment on previews, and threads can link to Slack. On artifact.guru, people you invite by email comment in a panel beside the artifact rather than on the page, and your agent can read and resolve those comments over MCP.

Is Vercel’s free plan fine for client work?

Vercel’s Hobby plan is for personal, non-commercial use, so client work means Pro at $20 per developer seat per month. artifact.guru’s paid plans start at $12 a month.
