A Workplane alternative for Word, decks and your own domain

Workplane is free and built for agents: folders of files, named versions, inline comments and MCP tools that write any file. artifact.guru renders Word and PowerPoint, can put links on your own domain, and shows who opened each email link.

Where Workplane is good

  • Each artifact is a real folder of files, and agents can list, read, write, edit and remove files over MCP, or download it all as a zip.
  • Named versions are immutable snapshots with their own addresses, so a reviewer can point at exactly what they read.
  • It’s free for individuals with no card, and readers open shared pages without an account, signing in only to comment.

Where artifact.guru is different

  • Word, PowerPoint and React render in the browser, along with PDFs, images, Markdown with Mermaid and Excalidraw, and zipped sites, up to 100 MB a file.
  • Four ways to share one link: Private, Email for up to 50 named addresses, an 8-character Secret code that can expire, or Public. New artifacts always start private.
  • Email links show each person who opened, when and how often, and who hasn’t opened yet. Public and code links show counts, referrers and devices.
  • Your own domain and a team workspace: public and code links on a subdomain like docs.yourcompany.com, plus admins, members and shared projects on Team.
